Becky McDowell – Counselor

McD¿ec01Ms. Becky has worked in the field of education for more than 30 years and has served in many capacities, including classroom teacher, special services instructor, parent volunteer and counselor. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, a Master’s degree in Special Education and a Master’s degree in Counseling. She is also a licensed School Counselor and a licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Colorado.

Born and raised in a Catholic family, Ms. Becky feels very blessed to be working in a Catholic environment where her faith is essential as she supports students in the areas of academic, social and emotional growth. She works with students in a variety of ways including individual counseling, small group activities, and classroom guidance lessons. Consultation with faculty and administration allows her to further support the needs of the students. Becky greatly values parental involvement in the education of their children and strives to support parents and families through direct communication and through parent informational opportunities such as the monthly Good Shepherd Moms’ Group.

She has been married to her high school sweetheart for more than 32 years and has two grown children and two dogs. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with family, singing in a local choir, and traveling with her husband.
