Since her early teenage years, Ms. Jan has always loved working with children, and her career in teaching has fed and increased this love. She has been teaching for almost 40 years, and more than 30 of those years have been at Good Shepherd Catholic School. In addition to her many years of teaching at Good Shepherd, Ms. Jan also attended St. John’s Elementary School, now known as Good Shepherd School, for her elementary education. Returning to her alma mater to teach was an experience that not many people have!
She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education from the University of Northern Colorado and a Master’s of Arts degree in Early Childhood Special Education from the University of Colorado Denver. She also holds a Professional Teacher License from the State of Colorado and has been certified as a Childcare Director since 1978. She has continued post-graduate studies at the University of Colorado Denver and The University of Northern Colorado in education and school administration.
In addition to her many years of teaching, Ms. Jan spent 20 years as a camp director for Camp Paha, a day camp for children with special needs. She has been blessed with the opportunity to watch children grow and develop into wonderful adults, and she looks forward to many more years with the Good Shepherd students and community.
